Our Founders, Jay & Shahla
This picture of us was taken in June 2020. We had no idea what was about to unfold in our lives, in our community, in the nation, and in our world.
As 2020 unfolded, it became clear that our mission would be refined to do business in a way that would make a difference for people.
Jay, our founder, was wounded by traditional education as a child. He could clearly see that if provided the opportunity for unconventional learning, his childhood struggles would have been addressed. He recognized how many children have been wounded in education and the multitudes who are suffering today.
Shahla, our co-founder, was fortunate to experience unconventional education as a child and has spent decades working in school systems. Her countless hours talking with anxiety-filled parents looking for healthy, educational opportunities for their children had her wanting to help families on a larger scale.
With Jay’s corporate background and Shahla’s work in the public school system and unconventional school environments, we had the specific experience and skills to move forward to create Strike School.
